ADVICE 237-G
(U 338-E)
PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
ENERGY DIVISION
SUBJECT:

Modification of the Effective Date for Southern California
Edison’s Advice 235-G

PURPOSE
This advice letter is submitted to correct the effective date of Advice 235-G to
September 1, 2020, as further discussed below.
BACKGROUND
In Decision (D.)82-04-010, Ordering Paragraph (OP) 2, the Commission authorized
Southern California Edison Company (SCE) to submit Gas Cost Adjustment Clause
advice letters for every six-month period, with March 1 and September 1 as the
regularly-scheduled revision dates.
On August 3, 2020, SCE submitted Advice 235-G to revise SCE’s gas tariffs to reflect a
decrease in the Santa Catalina Island Gas Cost Adjustment Billing Factors and the
California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Surcharge component of base rates for
non-CARE gas customers.
Pursuant to D.82-04-010, Advice 235-G should have been effective September 1,
2020.1 SCE however inadvertently submitting Advice 235-G with an incorrect date of
September 2, 2020. Due to this oversight, SCE is requesting the effective date of
Advice 235-G to be changed from September 2, 2020 to September 1, 2020 as gas
customers on Santa Catalina Island were billed on these rates beginning September 1,
2020.

1

Advice 235-G was approved by the Commission’s Energy Division and pursuant to SCE’s
request, made effective as of September 2, 2020.
