Substitute Sheets for Advice 6085-E

Dear Energy Division Tariff Unit:
An original and 1 copy of substitute sheets are attached for Advice 6085-E,
“Submits Notice of Construction, Pursuant to General Order 131-D, for the
Construction of Exchequer-Yosemite 70 kV Power Line Reliability Project in the
County of Mariposa.” submitted on February 11, 2021.
In PG&E’s Advice Letter 6085-E, PG&E inadverdently omitted the phrase “all
conductors and” in the second sentence of the Background section’s second
paragraph. This substitute sheet is correcting this sentence to,
“After further review, PG&E now proposes to replace all conductors and
approximately 37 lattice steel towers and approximately 15 lattice steel
poles with with lattice steel poles (replacement) ranging from
approximately 3 feet shorter to 42 feet taller than the existing lattice steel
towers and poles, which vary in height from approximately 58 to 107 feet
tall.”
In accordance with GO 96-B, Section 7.5.1, the substitute sheets are being
served in the same manner as the original advice letter. For administrative
convenience, new pages of Sheets 1 and 2 are attached. Please discard the
previously submitted pages.
Please call me at (415) 973-4587 should you have any questions regarding the
substitute sheets.

Erik Jacobson Director Regulatory Relations Pacific Gas and Electric Company 77 Beale St., Mail Code B13U P.O. Box 770000 San Francisco, CA 94177 Fax: 415-973-3582 February 11, 2021 Advice 6085-E (Pacific Gas and Electric Company ID U39 E) Public Utilities Commission of the State of California Subject: Submits Notice of Construction, Pursuant to General Order 131-D, for the Construction of Exchequer-Yosemite 70 kV Power Line Reliability Project in the County of Mariposa Pacific Gas and Electric Company (“PG&E” or “the Company”) hereby submits notice pursuant to General Order (G.O.) 131-D, Section XI, Subsection B.4, of the construction of facilities that are exempt from a Permit to Construct. Purpose This advice letter provides a copy of the Notice of Proposed Construction (Attachment I) and the Notice Distribution List, which comply with the noticing requirements found in G.O. 131-D, Section XI. Background As previously noticed (Advice Letter Number (AL) 5486-E), Pacific Gas and Electric Company is proposing to upgrade the Exchequer-Yosemite 70 Kilovolt (kV) Power Line to continue to maintain safe and reliable electric service to customers in Mariposa County. The Exchequer-Yosemite 70 kV Power Line, supported by approximately 244 steel structures, spans approximately 35 miles across rural and sparsely populated areas of Mariposa County from Exchequer Substation at Lake McClure to the border of Yosemite National Park in the Community of El Portal. In the eastern 18-mile section of the project between Telegraph Road and the border of Yosemite National Park in El Portal, the project originally planned to replace approximately 3 miles of conductor and 6 lattice steel towers with lattice steel poles, reinforce other lattice steel towers, and raise one tower. After further review, PG&E now proposes to replace all conductors and approximately 37 lattice steel towers and approximately 15 lattice steel poles with lattice steel poles (replacement) ranging from approximately 3 feet shorter to 42 feet taller than the existing lattice steel towers and poles, which vary in height from approximately 58 to 107 feet tall. PG&E also proposes

Advice No. 6085-E -2- February 11, 2021 to install inline 2 new lattice steel poles (intersetting), one approximately 82 feet tall and the other approximately 92 feet tall. The steel structures that are taller are required to comply with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) General Order 95 minimum ground-to-conductor clearance requirements. Helicopters will be used to facilitate construction in undeveloped areas. Limited by power clearances and seasonal constraints, power line construction will occur during limited annual construction periods. Construction is tentatively scheduled to resume in spring 2021 or as soon as practicable after project approval. Construction is scheduled to be completed in winter 2021 or as soon as possible after construction begins. CPUC General Order 131-D, Section III, Subsection B.1, exempts projects meeting specific conditions from the CPUC’s requirement to file an application requesting authority to construct. The Company believes this project qualifies for the following exemptions, b. “the replacement of existing power line facilities or supporting structures with equivalent facilities or structures.” c. “the intersetting of additional support structures between existing support structures.” This submittal will not cause the withdrawal of service, or conflict with any other rate schedule or rule. Protests ***Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the shelter at home orders, PG&E is currently unable to receive protests or comments to this advice letter via U.S. mail or fax. Please submit protests or comments to this advice letter to EDTariffUnit@cpuc.ca.gov and PGETariffs@pge.com*** Anyone wishing to protest this submittal may do so by submitting a protest with the CPUC and the Company by March 3, 2021, which is 20 days after the date of this filing.
